Hi there, hope you’re keeping cool as summer heats up! Let’s dive into what’s new at Readyset:
💬 Product Updates
Readyset Cloud
- Improved concurrency management and cache reliability enabling a more predictable and resilient system. Improvements include thread-safe request limiting, enhanced lifecycle tracking, and improved Data Plane REST error handling and observability.
- Enhanced key interfaces to improve performance analysis workflows and reduce visual bugs, including: redesigned query details, improved chart segmentation and metadata visibility, and fixed motion library usage.
- Rolled out production support for the DataExchangeAPI for BYOA/BYOVPC clusters and on prem deployments, simplifying hybrid deployments and improving telemetry fidelity.
- Shipped enhancements to ECS-based infrastructure to improve scalability and resilience under load, including: Auto scaling based on real-time CPU and memory usage, integrated PagerDuty health alerts, and unified environment and secrets management across deployments.
- Migrated Readyset Cloud UI frontend from Next.js to Vite + React for a leaner and faster development environment.
- And more!
Readyset Core
- Enhanced cache matching logic to distinguish between queries using WHERE (...) IN (...) and those using WHERE … = …., ensuring improved query performance.
- Fixed an issue where CREATE CACHE statements using range conditions could consume excessive memory, improving system stability and performance.
- Optimized schema handling to avoid unnecessary table re-snapshots when ALTER TABLE ADD KEY is used, reducing deployment time and avoiding redundant computation.
- Added support for basic spatial display functions (ST_AsTEXT, ST_AsEWKT) for the PostGIS geometry(point) data type, enabling users to inspect and debug geospatial data more easily.
- Updated MySQL compatibility to respect @@character_set_results when returning latin1 and cp850 text columns; SET NAMES and \C also work, though they do not yet affect collation in lookups.
- And more!

🆕 New on the Blog & YouTube
- When and Why to Cache a Query: Addressing Developer Pain Points: A recent Reddit thread in the PostgreSQL community reminded us of the common developer frustrations with traditional caching: manual invalidation, stale data, fragile cache logic, and more. In our latest post, we unpack why these problems persist and how Readyset’s SQL-native approach flips the script.
🏳️🌈 June Event Recap
Tanmay and Bianchi hosted the first in a new series of webinars dedicated to helping you turbocharge your database performance. If you missed it and want to learn more about finding your problem queries on MySQL, check out the recording here. Keep an eye on our socials for the next one and tune in live to have your most pressing database performance questions answered!
🗓️ Upcoming Events
AWS Summit New York City - July 16, 2025
Tanmay is heading to New York City for the AWS Summit! If you’re up for great conversations about database performance, curious about what we’re building at Readyset, or just want to chat about the future of databases, he’s happy to connect. If you’re attending or in the area, feel free to grab some time on his calendar here.
MySQL Summit Online - July 22, 2025 @ 10:00am PDT
Marcelo will be speaking at MySQL Summit Online! Join him for a deep dive into how Readyset uses MySQL’s binary log and dataflow graphs to solve one of the hardest problems in computing. This isn't just theory; we’ll decode real binlog events at the byte level and explore how this powers Readyset’s real-time, low-latency cache. If you're scaling systems or passionate about database internals, this talk is for you.
📝 Reminder: QueryPilot Private Beta is Now Open
Be among the first to try QueryPilot, our smart, single query endpoint designed to future-proof your database. QueryPilot simplifies scaling by combining automatic query caching and intelligent routing in a fully managed platform. Built on the foundation of ProxySQL, the battle tested proxy trusted by Uber, Shopify, and Booking.com, QueryPilot delivers:
- Connection pooling to reduce overhead
- Intelligent query routing to balance load across replicas and primaries
- Automatic failover for high availability
- A query firewall to block unsafe queries
- Performance optimization without manual tuning
